Christ the Redeemer
A marvelous view enchants tourists and Cariocas* upon arriving in Rio de Janeiro. Way up there, still on the plane, or even from the ground, it is possible to behold the statue on top of the Corcovado Hill, in the midst of Tijuca National Park.
The largest and most famous Art Deco sculpture in world, the statue of Christ the Redeemer. The statue is one of Rio’s main sights, voted as one of the Seven Wonders of the World by Swiss organization New 7 Wonders Foundation. 21 monuments took part in the voting process, and seven were elected throughout the planet.
